DESCRIPTION

This is an incredible hike to Huchuyqosqo from Cusco, passing along the variable landscape, where it is possible to find amazing wildlife over 4,900masl, lagoons, shrubs, endless hills, snow capped mountains, remote Andean communities, habitats of llamas, alpacas, Andean bird species etc. As you go further, you will enter into the valley, with lush plantation.

You will arrive into the Huchuyqosqo complex to admire the view of the Sacred Valley surrounded by mountains. Finally descending through the windy trail to Lamay village, where transport will be awaiting you.

ITINERARY

​

Early in the morning at 5:00 am we will pick you up at your hotel to drive towards Tauca, a small community near Chinchero región in Cusco (3760masl) approximately 1 hour from where you will begin your ascension to the first pass 4050 masl, experiencing breathtaking views over the Piuray ( 3700masl) and Qoricocha Lagoons (4050masl)

You will rise to the highest point of our hike 4300masl. At this point you will embrace a part of the outstanding South American Mountain Range known as the ANDES. Then descend towards the valley where you will gaze upon amazing vegetation. You will then arrive to a look out point to observe part of the Sacred Valley. Finally you will come upon the complex site of Huchuyqosqo. Where you will be shown around in a way that will make your experience astoundingly enriched, Take your time to admire the view and enjoy our delicious lunch. Continue hiking on the way down to Lamay, where your transport will be awaiting for you. 

After transferring to Ollantaytambo train Station. You will travel 1 and a half hours to aguas Calientes where you will spend the night.

The next town is nestled in the cloud forest at the foot of Machu Picchu. For those who want a sneak peak, there is time to visit Machu Picchu independently before a guided tour the following day. Otherwise, you can while away the afternoon in the natural hot springs at Aguas Calientes. 

Depending on weather conditions, you can take a bus at 5:30 am along the winding road to Machu Picchu. The journey takes around 30 minutes. While at Machu Picchu, if skies are clear, You will enjoy a spectacular sunrise over the ancient city from the Sun Gate, before going on a guided walk around the site.

After taking advantage of the seemingly endless photo opportunities, it's time to return to Cuzco for a well-deserved shower and a pisco sour. Your evening is then free to celebrate the last night of your adventure.
